The National Restaurants Association Educational Foundation’s ServSafe® Food Protection Managers Certification provided by Food and Alcohol Safety Classes will help food service managers in Florida who work in establishments licensed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (Division of Hotels and Restaurants) who are required to be certified. Florida Statute 509.039 requires that all food service managers who are responsible for the storage, preparation, display, or serving of foods be certified.

ServSafe® certification, as provided by Food and Alcohol Safety Classes is the leader in training Food service managers in Florida who work in establishments licensed by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (Division of Food Safety) who are required to be certified. Section 5k-4.021 of the Florida Administrative Code, requires all food establishments (including mobile vendors) licensed by the department to have a certified manager (except food establishments or mobile vendors that sell, store or hold only pre-packaged, non-potentially hazardous foods that arrive at the food establishment in a pre-packaged state and that are not opened or otherwise further processed by the food establishment; or food establishments that only process seafood and that are in full compliance with the mandatory HACCP provisions in rule 5k-4.002(1)(a) of the Florida Administrative Code). Section 500.12(6) of the Florida Statutes also requires the Department to adopt rules for the training and certification of managers of food establishments.

Florida also requires that a person in charge of a food establishment demonstrate knowledge of food safety as outlined in the FDA Food Code. Passing an approved Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) Training like the  ServSafe ® Course and Exam offered by Food and Alcohol Safety Classes (FNASAFETY.COM) is one way to demonstrate knowledge.
