ANSI ACCREDITED: American National Standards Institute is a private non-profit organization that oversees the …ANSI accredits standards that are developed by representatives of food service/safety standards organizations, government agencies, consumer groups, …All FPMC exams must be ANSI accredited to be accepted by the majority of health departments.

AUTHORIZED PROCTOR: An individual who has been trained in exam administration and has passed a proscribed tutorial and exam by ServSafe. Only individuals who are authorized by ServSafe may “proctor” administer the ServSafe FPMC exam.

COUNCIL FOR FOOD PROTECTION: The Conference for Food Protection (CFP) is a non-profit organization in the United States that was formed in 1971. The structure of the conference provides a representative and equitable partnership among regulators, industry, academia, professional organizations and consumers to identify problems, formulate recommendations, and develop and implement practices that ensure food safety. New rapidly developing food technologies and marketing innovations challenge all groups involved in food production and monitoring to work together to enhance the quality of our food supply. The Conference for Food Protection meets at least biennially to provide that forum.

FOOD PROTECTION MANAGER CERTIFICATION: Recommended by the Council for Food Protection and the FDA most state and local jurisdictions have adopted as part of their food codes a person who has “demonstrated knowledge” of food safety. They do this by passing a nationally accepted ANSI accredited exam. Upon passing they receive the designation (certification) of Food Protection Manager.

NATIONAL REGISTRY OF FOOD SAFETY PROFESSIONALS (NRFSP):An exam for the FPMC. Passing it “demonstrates an individual’s knowledge of food safety”. It is accepted worldwide. Two years ago the company was purchased by the National Restaurant Association, who also owns the ServSafe exam.

SERVSAFE: An exam for the FPMC. Passing it “demonstrates an individual’s knowledge of food safety”. It is accepted nationally.

EXAM VOUCHER: A unique, individual code the exam companies use to let only one person enter a test portal and take a paid for exam. Required to take online exams.

PEARSON-VUE TEST CENTER: 1500 locations throughout the USA where those taking the NRFSP exam have to go.

COURSE MANUAL: A 85+ page compendium that delivers the core understanding of food safety. Compiled by instructors, and always being edited to keep current.

TEMPERATURE FLASH CARDS: Certain things never die out. The “Flash Card” system for memorizing is still the best way. But it’s important to understand that you still need to understand the why.

EXAM GUIDE: Understanding the why and how an exam is put together will help to understand how to decipher, and then realize the correct answer.

VIDEO INSTRUCTION: We source the best presentations produced and distributed by local health departments to augment our materials and give you the learner a wide range of learning mediums.

POWER POINT: Our power point presentation helps to support the video presentation. 105 colored slides covering a wide range of topics, but presenting them from a different perspective. Just like questions on the exam.

INSTRUCTOR REVIEW: A 40 last minute boot camp to get you ready for the types questions that can be real brain teasers. Your instructor will go over obscure factoids, proper but crazy sounding wording of questions, common occurring mistakes the average test taker makes and get into the right frame of mind right before you dive into your test. Please note: this is not a panacea if you did not properly prepare at home prior to taking the exam. It is meant to be an additional tool to help you get the job done.

PHONE SUPPORT:  (914)-522-5913 or fnasafety@ifscg.com are available 7 days a week to help walk you through any problems you might be having.

PRACTICE QUESTIONS: 160-200 questions (depending what package you purchased) that have been used on previous exams. One of the best ways to help prepare for taking the real exam. Remember that you will be tested on your knowledge, not necessarily on your memory. An example of this is; 1 + 1=2 or 3 – 1= 2 same answer 2 different ways to get there. READ, COMPREHEND, APPLY.

POWERPOINT WITH INSTRUCTOR NOTES: Separate but in addition to the power point presentation, this device will allow you to view the power point again without the use of a computer and at the same time view the instructors notes  just as if was a verbal presentation.
